Excellent Bass Fishing, Trout Fishing and some Walleye Fishing on ...
The "Grand River Rafting Company" offers guided drift boat fishing on platformed rafts down the Grand River in Paris, Ontario. Fishermen will find abundant smallmouth bass, fall/spring rainbow trout… as well as pike, walleye and big carp. All trips are very reasonably priced. A five hour guided fishing trip for two with lunch is $200 total with a platform raft. Drift boat rafting is the most satisfying experience for fishing the Grand & Nith Rivers. Two fishermen can stand on the platforms and do trout fly fishing or fly fishing for bass with lots of space. Or for those that bait cast, they can sit in deck chairs elevated above the water level to easily see striking fish. The best thing about raft platform fishing is that the speed of the raft allows excellent casting opportunities at each fishing pool.
My other life - Robert Croft
I'm basically a boy from the country, from Hendy in West Wales. It's something I started doing in those long school holidays in the summer. My grandfather fished, my father fished and it just gets handed down like playing rugby in Wales is handed down from generation to generation. What was your first fish? Like a cricketer I started with a net. My parents took me down to the local river and I caught a trout. I didn't know at the time that they had taken out it of the freezer earlier. But I didn't care I was, er, hooked after that. What sort of fishing do you specialise in? Although I do some sea fishing I mainly fly fish. A friend of mine owns a stretch on the River Tawe and that's where you will see me going after salmon and sea trout. What has been your biggest catch? My biggest fish to date was a beautiful 15lb salmon I landed last September at a stretch of river in Capel Dewi in Carmarthen - one of the most prolific sea trout rivers in the UK.
DNR: Cooler weather improving fishing on inland waters
Cooler weather this week has helped improve fishing, especially on the inland waters, but strong winds have put a damper on fishing in the Great Lakes, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources said Wednesday in its weekly Recreational Fishing Report. SOUTHEAST LOWER PENINSULA Lake Erie: Walleye fishing has been slow with a few fish being taken near the Banana Dyke on bottom bouncers and crawler harnesses. Perch have been caught in waters 26 feet deep off Stony Point on shiners. Other good areas have been east of E Buoy, Sputnik and the Fermi power plant. Detroit River: Walleye are being caught in the Lower Trenton Channel near Horse Island and Celeron Island. At Horse Island, anglers are having luck drifting crawler harnesses, while those fishing near Celeron Island are hand-lining or jigging in 15 to 21 feet of water.
